Reading
Our dynamic reading program emphasizes developing essential skills in phonemic awareness and phonics, enabling students to decode words confidently. Engaging with grade-level texts, students will enhance their fluency and comprehension by identifying main ideas, supporting details, and making connections within and across texts. Activities will focus on summarizing key details, exploring characters, settings, and events, and utilizing illustrations and text features to enrich their understanding of diverse literature.
Writing
Students will engage in a comprehensive writing curriculum that nurtures creativity and communication skills. They will learn to express themselves through complete sentences, utilizing descriptive language while adhering to standards of capitalization and punctuation. Our curriculum encourages students to write narratives, informational texts, and opinion pieces, emphasizing organization within paragraphs to ensure clarity. Speaking and Listening

Language

Mathematics
Mathematics comes alive with our hands-on approach! Students will explore place value up to 1,000 and learn to master addition and subtraction within this range. Multiplication and division will be introduced, allowing them to develop a foundational understanding of these operations through real-life scenarios. Students will also explore fractions, measurement in standard units, telling time, and solving word problems, all while interpreting and creating graphs and charts to visualize data.
Science
In our science curriculum, students will become young scientists as they engage in the scientific method and conduct simple experiments. They will learn to differentiate between living and nonliving things and understand the characteristics and needs of various plants and animals. Topics such as states of matter, the water cycle, and habitats will be explored through hands-on activities to ignite curiosity and foster critical thinking skills.
