Language and Literacy Development

Our curriculum places a strong emphasis on language and literacy, promoting early reading and writing skills through fun phonological awareness activities like songs, rhymes, and storytelling. Children will not only learn to recognize and write both upper and lowercase letters but also engage in discussions and practice comprehension skills that encourage a lifelong love of reading. Our focus on sight words and punctuation provides a solid foundation for future literacy success.

Mathematical Exploration

We recognize the importance of early mathematics in developing critical thinking skills. Our curriculum introduces children to number recognition and writing from 1 to 10, along with counting objects up to 20. Basic addition and subtraction concepts are taught through playful activities, while children learn to identify shapes and recognize patterns. By using non-standard units for measuring objects, students embrace hands-on learning that makes math enjoyable and relevant.

Inquiry-Based Science

Our science curriculum invites students to explore the wonders of the natural world through hands-on experiments and observations. We encourage curiosity about plants, animals, weather, and seasons, laying the groundwork for scientific understanding. By focusing on inquiry skills, children learn to ask questions, make observations, and develop an appreciation for the science around them.

Engaging Social Studies

The social studies component of our curriculum helps children develop an awareness of their own identity, family, community, and the concept of citizenship. By exploring different cultures and traditions, our young learners cultivate a sense of empathy and global awareness. We also introduce basic economic concepts and historical figures relevant to North Dakota, enriching students’ understanding of their place in the world.

Creative Fine Arts Curriculum

Arts are integral to our curriculum, allowing children to explore their creative abilities through various mediums, including painting, drawing, and sculpting. Musical activities and movement allow for expressive play, while exposure to different forms of dance enhances their appreciation for the performing arts. Through dramatic play, students develop storytelling skills and social confidence.

Physical Education and Wellness

Physical education is a vital part of our curriculum, focusing on the development of gross and fine motor skills through structured play and organized games. We promote overall health and wellness awareness, encouraging activities that foster teamwork, coordination, and fitness. Outdoor playtime offers children the opportunity for exploration and connection with nature.

Social-Emotional Development

Recognizing the importance of social-emotional learning, our curriculum is designed to help children practice essential social skills such as sharing and listening. We focus on emotional regulation and empathy, empowering students to recognize and manage their emotions and those of others. Additionally, basic conflict resolution strategies are taught to support healthy peer interactions.

Technology Integration

In today’s digital age, our curriculum includes age-appropriate technology skills, helping students develop basic computer literacy while promoting safe and responsible digital citizenship. Children will explore educational apps and use technology as a tool for creativity and problem-solving, ensuring they are prepared for a tech-driven future.
