Areas Of Development
We are thrilled to introduce our thoughtfully designed Infant Curriculum, tailored specifically for children aged 6 months to 1 year. Based on the Illinois Early Learning Standards, our program fosters holistic development in infants through engaging, play-based activities that promote growth across multiple domains: Language Development, Cognitive Development, Physical Development, Social-Emotional Development, and Approaches to Learning.
Language Development
Our curriculum encourages early language skills through exposure to rhythm and melody. Infants will delight in singing simple songs and nursery rhymes, stimulating their auditory senses and language acquisition. Engaging in interactive reading with bright board books helps infants recognize words as they learn to connect sounds with meanings. Caregivers will be equipped to nurture language skills through conversations filled with expressive gestures and facial expressions, creating a rich linguistic environment.
Cognitive Development
Infants are naturally curious, and our curriculum taps into this innate drive to explore. We provide sensory-rich experiences, allowing infants to engage with diverse textures and colors. Through hands-on activities, infants learn cause and effect, boosting problem-solving skills as they discover how objects interact with each other. The curriculum is designed to promote inquiry and exploration, encouraging infants to navigate their world guided by their own curiosity.
Physical Development
Physical milestones are crucial during the infant stage, and our program supports the development of gross and fine motor skills through purposeful play activities. Designed to strengthen developing muscles, Tummy Time and interactive play with safe toys promote reaching, grasping, and crawling. We encourage infants to practice sitting with support to enhance balance and coordination, laying the foundation for future mobility.
Social-Emotional Development
Building secure attachments is essential in infancy. Our curriculum prioritizes relationship-building through nurturing caregiving and supportive interaction among peers. Activities such as peek-a-boo and pat-a-cake foster social engagement, teaching infants about turn-taking and shared enjoyment.
